Noah Writes a B&B Letter
The chapter starts with Noah Gershom's mother telling him to write a B&B Letter to his grandparents. We then flashback to his time in Century Village (Florida), which is where he stayed with his grandparents over the summer. In the flashback, we see that Noah learns calligraphy so he can help write the invitations to the Diamondsteins' (his grandparent's friends) wedding. We also see that while Noah tries to load the wedding cake up, the best man of the wedding trips and smashes the top of the cake, also hurting his ankle in the process. Noah then a) finds a way to fix the cake and b) volunteers to fill in the position of best man. After it is agreed that he will take the position of best man, he commissions one of his grandfather's other friends to make him a tuxedo t-shirt. At the end, we read that Noah sacrifices the items he acquired during his stay as "prizes" to the recipients of the messed-up ("specially marked") invitations.

Ethan Explains the B&B Inn
The chapter starts with Ethan narrating his bus ride to school, including having to give up his saved-for-no-one-but-still-saved seat to Julian. We then learn that Julian's dad had bought Sillington House to turn into a Bread and Breakfast Inn. After Julian and Ethan arrive at school and in their homeroom, their teacher, Mrs. Olinsky, starts the day by writing "paraplegic" on the board and explaining that that is what she is. Afterwards, when everyone comes back from lunch, they see that someone had erased "paraplegic" and wrote "cripple"-- and Julian was standing there, holding the eraser. We then get pretty-close-to-proof that Hamilton Knapp, basically Bully #1, was the one who had performed the rude act. Later on, Hamilton's character is developed even more when he writes "I am a a*s" on Julian's bookbag (and without the asterisk). Fast forward in the chapter, and Julian gives clues to Ethan to invite him to a tea party at Sillington House. Before Ethan arrives, he picks out (against his will) a pink, heart-shaped puzzle as a gift to his host. The Souls (all of which had been invited to the tea party by Julian) later decide that they will meet at Sillington House every Saturday for tea.
